The world of canoeing will once again descend on the UK as the iconic London 2012 Olympic venue hosts the 2023 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships. Six days of elite level competition will see over 300 athletes from more than 50 countries compete for both Olympic qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and World titles in Canoe/Kayak Slalom and Kayak Cross.

Canoe slalom is a timed event where competitors navigate a fast white water course by passing through a combination of upstream and downstream gates. Competitors will compete in Canoe (C1), and Kayak (K1) events, there is also a Team event that takes place on the first day of competition.

Kayak Cross first appeared on the ICF’s World Cup programme in 2015, and since then the growth has been phenomenal. Athlete numbers have been increasing every season, more and more tv networks are showing the races live, and there’s plenty of enthusiasm for the sport as it joins the Olympic programme at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
